Handwriting
At the end of this term we did our handwriting sample. We had to use our capital and lower case letters and write a sentence about our science fair.
What I like about my handwriting is my letters are on the line.
What I could do better is form my capital letters.
Here is a photo of my handwriting sample.

Garden to Table
Today I was in the garden weeding. Here is a photo of me pulling out a very big weed.
When we had finished in the garden, we put our gloves away and washed our hands. Then we joined the rest of Team Awa on the field to have a picnic. I really liked the food. We had a fruit kebab and a some fritters and quiche. Here is a photo of our yummy picnic.

Musical instrumants
Team Awa made instruments using recycled materials. I made a maraca using a plastic bottle and popcorn seeds.
I think my maraca makes a cool sound when I shake it.

koru art
We made koru art with Whaea Rose by drawing a koru then we put it on foam and cut it out and used ink to stamp it onto white paper.
My koru represents nature.
I really like the colours I used to stamp my korus onto my piece of art.
Here is a photo of me and my colourful koru art.

Bottle lid, a balloon and a disc Step 1:Using a hot glue gun glue the battle c
Cap over the CD hole.
Step 2:Blow up a balloonn. When it is fully inflated twist the end so no air come out.
Step 3:Stretch the balloon over the end of the bottle cap.
Step 4:Open up the cap and place the CD on the surface.
Step 5:Untwist balloon and let go.
It spinning around THE air from the balloon creates a cushion of moving air between the disc and the CD and reduces the friction across the surface.

Bridge Building
We have been learning about forces and how they help shape the sort of bridges that we build.
We learned that there are three main types of bridge design; beam, truss and suspension. Using this knowledge we designed and built our own bridges.
Miss Fletcher set the challenge that our bridges had to be 30 cm long and strong enough to hold an object.
In my group there were Frank, Zavier, Kaye-Lani and Stella. We used an Egg Carton and some cardboard to build our bridge.
Here is a photo of our Beam bridge. What I like best about our bridge is that it can hold the weight of me when I sit on our beam bridge.

Speech
We have been learning how to write speeches. I wrote my speech about Police.
Did you know that bad guys are in jail because of police? Police are important to our communities. They can help people, they arrest people and they can put people in jail and they save people’s lives. I believe that the police is an important job.
Firstly, the police take their job seriously. They do a good job as there are a lot of criminals around New Zealand stealing money.
Next, Police can arrest people if they commit a crime. The person can get charged by the police and may have to go to court.
Finally, the police give people a ticket for speeding. If people speed they might crash and hurt themselves or hurt others.
I believe the police deserve to have a break, they help save New Zealand. Being a police officer is an important job.

Environmental writing
We sketched our bean plants that we grew in class. We then wrote words around the outside to describe the bean plant. We had to use these words to write a piece of descriptive writing. We then cut out our picture and glued it on to your writing. Here is my writing.
